Flexible over a wide range of temperature, has great elasticity
over the entire hardness range, strong mechanical property,
high abrasion resistance, high modulus of elasticity and
high recycling rate are the major advantages of Thermoplastic
Polyurethane (TPU) over others engineering plastics.
TPU is an environmental friendly substance which could
be processed by means of injection moulding, extrusion,
extrusion blow moulding and calendaring etc. It becomes
more welcome among product engineers in design product
design.
In recent years, TPU serves as a replacement of PVC
in many different applications because of its excellent
performance and attributes. With its excellent elasticity,
good elongation at break and anti ageing characteristics,
TPU has been widely used in many applications such as
shoe soles, garment, toys, hydraulics products, medical
equipment, gymnastic products and automobile products.
The prohibition of the use of PVC in EU countries and
North America bought forth the growth of TPU application
in garment industry. Many zipper tab producers have
switched from PVC to the non-toxic, environmental friendly,
ease of processing TPU, which gradually capture the
existing PVC market. After trying TPU as the zipper
